Countering the main features

1. Deals single target damage to nearest target every 9 seconds, dealing around 30% HP damage. Deals single target damage to nearest target every 6-8 seconds, dealing fixed damage that increases every minute.

This feature is a test on the tank of the team or whichever food soul is tanking. A Defense food soul is obviously the recommended choice but Strength type might work if survival is not an issue. Because one of the feature will be dealing % damage, max HP of the tank needs to be managed and controlled to ensure that the healer can cope. Another recommendation for tank will be food souls who has self healing, shield or invincibility abilities. This can ease the job of the healer to ensure lasting survival of the whole team. These tanks include Apple Pie, Crab Long Bao, Gingerbread, Oyster, Gyoza, Lion’s Head, Ddeokbokki and Tom Yum.

2. Cast a buff on itself increasing Def, can be dispelled.

Another standard feature of bosses to self buff, this time in terms of Def which will lower damage of your team’s normal attacks. This can impact greatly on team comps using Beer. As usual, a dispelling food soul can be used to dispel this buff, namely Champagne, Toso, Butter Tea, Rum and Moon Cake. UR food souls with dispelling ability in their basic skill are preferred. Good Atk Spd FAs recommended as obvious choice to increase chance of dispelling.

One way to counter the Def might be to use food souls with Def lowering abilities like Osechi, Huangshan Maofeng, Caviar and Bamboo Rice.

3. Does an % based AOE (Area of Effect) skill at specific timings.

9:17, 6:34, 3:57, 1:59

This feature is similar to guild boss’s skill but adds one extra time bringing it to 4 timings instead of 3. Because it is % based, the HP of your team and the capability of your healer to keep the tank alive is of great concern to keep the team alive. Thankfully the AOE deals less % damage to tank than rest of the team, making the survival of the tank much more important. This basically means that the team will survive if the tank survives. Thus, priority of using a good Atk Spd FA should be given to the healer. If using 1 healer, recommended are Nagashi Somen, Bibimbap or Sweet Tofu for their superior group heals. Usage of 2 healers is also an option. Another common option is to use Moon Cake and Tangyuan combination to trigger Tangyuan’s linked skill at the specified timings. Try them out to find the best for your team comp!

Team Composition & Fallen Angels

Atk Spd FAs are now the staple for most fights, and is also the case for this boss. The higher the enhancements the better the damage output. However, Atk FAs can be used for team comp using tank. Artifacts play a crucial role for team comp based on Beer. The higher the nodes with higher level togis will increase the damage output significantly. Priority of buffs goes to Atk Spd if Atk Spd of team is not optimal yet. If the team’s Atk Spd is enough, go for Critical Buff to reach higher damage output.

Notable Pairings

These pairings produce great synergies and are recommended to try them out if your team comp happens to include either one of them. Not compulsory to follow these pairings if fallen angels, stars are not desirable or better food soul choices are available.

Team Comp 1 (Basic Setup)

  • 1 x Tank (Refer to list above)
  • 2 x Attackers including 1 x Dispeller
  • 2 x Healers (Bibimbap, Nagashi Somen, Sweet Tofu, Miso Soup)

A basic setup for this boss. Play around with the team comp with your best food souls to find the best setup. Judge and compare based on the number of stars as well as their rarity. A 5* Lion’s Head might fare better than a 1* Oyster, same goes for other food souls. As mentioned above, tanks with self healing or self protection abilities are recommended so the list above is not limited to just Oyster, Lion’s Head and Tom Yum. Pure attackers are always recommended as the damage dealers while group healers are also the top choices. However, it is advisable to slot in a dispeller mentioned above. Mapo Tofu proves to be a great DPS output even though she is a CC based food soul; when paired with Lion’s Head might out damage Pizza or Champagne depending on your fallen angels.

Team Comp 2 (Basic Setup without Tank)

  • 3 x Attackers including 1 x Dispeller
  • 2 x Healers (Bibimbap, Nagashi Somen, Sweet Tofu, Miso Soup)

Basically same as previous team comp but without the tank and inserting 1 more attacker. This team comp might put more strain on the healers but if you are forming this team comp, your team should already be surviving well. Atk Spd FAs are still recommended, priority on healers if survival is a problem. Miso Soup can replace a healer for more damage output.

Team Comp 3 (Basic Moon Cake/Tangyuan)

  • Moon Cake
  • Tangyuan
  • 2 x Attackers
  • 1 x Tank (Refer to list above)

Using Moon Cake and Tangyuan combination to trigger Tangyuan’s linked skill at the AOE skill timings to prevent team wipe. A easy setup for beginners or players having trouble surviving past the AOE.

Team Comp 4 (Intermediate Setup)

  • 1 x Tank (Refer to list above)
  • 2 x Attackers including 1 x Dispeller
  • 1 x Healer (Bibimbap, Nagashi Somen, Sweet Tofu, Miso Soup)

A more intermediate setup using only 1 healer. This setup will result in more damage than the previous setup depending on the tank used. A more offensive tank can deal more damage than a defensive one. Best to include a dispeller mentioned above. Best recommendations for dispeller are Rum, Toso or Butter Tea. Priority for Atk Spd goes to healer for ensured survival. Survival also depends on RNG of the tank so the fight might need a few tries to succeed. Overall should be a very common and easy setup to build.

Team Comp 5 (Beer Power with Tank)

  • 1 x Tank ( Refer to list above )
  • Beer
  • 2 x Pure Attackers
  • 1 x Healer (Bibimbap, Nagashi Somen, Sweet Tofu, Miso Soup)

Using Beer’s basic skill to generate faster Atk Spd and higher Atk. This team comp requires good Atk Spd FAs as usual and high stars. Dispeller can be omitted from this team comp because it will conflict with Beer’s silence. Beer needs to reach a benchmark of around 18k Atk Spd and higher to start being effective. Food souls with artifacts are recommended to maximize the potential/drawback caused by Beer. The rest depends purely on RNG from artifacts.

Team Comp 6 (Beer Power without Tank)

  • Beer
  • 3 x Pure Attackers
  • 1 x Healer (Bibimbap, Nagashi Somen, Sweet Tofu, Miso Soup)

This is a very risky team comp relying on just 1 healer for the whole team but will yield the highest overall damage output without using excess magic crystals for revival. This can only be achieved if Beer and the healer reaches max Atk Spd with max stars. Basically survival of the team relies on Beer’s basic skill frequency paired with the healer’s heal amount and artifact’s strength. As of current game state, Sweet Tofu might be the best choice with his artifact’s nodes opened to at least 3 for additional stats.

Team Comp 7 (Beer Power with Moon Cake/Tangyuan)

  • Beer
  • Moon Cake
  • Tangyuan
  • 2 x Attackers

Harnessing both Beer’s buff and Moon Cake/Tangyuan linked skill to prevent wipe. Moon Cake doubles up as a dispeller and with recent unlock of her artifacts, this can add more damage output. With high level Atk Spd FAs for the whole team, the damage output is pretty significant depending on the artifacts of Moon Cake, Tangyuan and your other 2 Attackers.

Team Comp 8 (Double Tea with Beer)

  • Cloud Tea, Butter Tea, Beer
  • 2 x Pure Attackers

High tier team comp making use of Cloud Tea as a healer and also a energy replenisher. However the key for this team comp to work comes from Cloud Tea’s artifacts. Her artifact needs to reach node 3 to disable Beer’s silence while still keeping Beer’s Atk and Atk Spd buffs. Stopping silence will in turn allow Cloud Tea to generate fast energy for the team and also to allow Butter Tea to dispel the boss and casting his energy replenishment skill too. This synergy requires high Atk Spd for full team to achieve survival. This team comp is able to dispel the boss’s Def buff while not sacrificing on Beer’s buffs, thus achieving great overall damage.
